On hot days, children can quickly lose body fluids and become dehydrated. This is why we decided to look for a material that could adapt to a child’s body temperature and improve their comfort and well-being! The innovative and recyclable material climatex® met all of our expectations - the material adjusts to body temperature, keeping passengers cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
In addition, the fabric is 100% recyclable and Cradle to Cradle Certified (see below for more information). The backrest, seat and head pad of our Croozer Kid Vaaya children’s trailers are made from climatex® fabric, as well as our new climatex® baby seat.
The material climatex® “Ultra” is woven from the following fibres:
72% Cradura™, PA (polyamide)
16% certified virgin wool, WV
12% redesigned Lenzing FR™, CV FR
Strictly speaking, the term “breathable” refers not to the transfer of air, but to how much moisture a material can transmit through its structure. The climatex® fabric has outstanding breathability.
We at Croozer are extremely committed to protecting the environment and the future of our planet. We are particularly proud that our bicycle trailers make an important contribution to the transition towards sustainable mobility and that so many people are using our products on a daily basis as an environmentally friendly alternative to the family car. However, our commitment to sustainability goes beyond the products we manufacture: it impacts everything we do as a company. Little by little, we are adapting important aspects of our production, materials and logistics to improve our sustainable performance. The first major step in this direction is the use of climatex® fabric, whose three different fibres can be completely separated from each other and returned to the respective cycles again and again. climatex® itself refers to this technology as its “textile lock”.
The climatex® material on the special baby seat as well as on the backrest, seat and head pad of our Kid Vaaya ensures optimal temperature regulation to guarantee that your child will enjoy maximum comfort in the bicycle trailer, even in hot weather. The fabric quickly adapts to the body temperature, calming your child’s pulse and circulatory system.
The special weave of natural and man-made fibres uses capillary action to wick away moisture. These capillaries absorb sweat and quickly disperse the moisture into the deeper structures of the seat so that the surface of the baby seat and the seats in the Croozer Kid Vaaya stay dry.
When temperatures fluctuate, the climatex® material in the baby seat and the Croozer Kid Vaaya balances out the fluctuations with the help of warming and cooling effects – a huge plus for the comfort of your child. In this sense, the fabric acts like a heater or air conditioner that needs no energy!
The Cradle to Cradle Certification guarantees that the fabric’s three different fibre types can be completely separated. Thanks to this process, which is well-established in the industry worldwide, the climatex® material of your baby seat and your Croozer Kid Vaaya is up to 100% recyclable.
climatex® products are designed in such a way to ensure that, at the end of their service life, all fibres can be returned to the appropriate cycles as biological nutrients or synthetic fibres. climatex® develops cyclical material flows that allow for a near-natural method of production and the continual reuse of materials. Certificates are issued after the evaluation of all processes, from the extraction of the raw materials to the packaging, processing and recycling.
This cycle is referred to as “cradle to cradle”.
